Dealer HD integrates Social Media into Dealer Websites – Social Media integration goes beyond the RIMS Admin

Monday, October 19th, 2009

(FRANKFORT, Ill.) – October 16, 2009 – Dealer HD continues to integrate Social Media outlets into their product offerings for dealerships.  Dealer HD’s 1.12 update in September allows dealers to Tweet through the RIMS Admin but it’s not the only Social Media integration Dealer HD provides.

For dealerships utilizing Social Media outlets in their marketing mix Dealer HD is providing access to Social Media right from their custom dealer websites.  Knowing the importance of a cohesive message Dealer HD has added calls to action in the footers of their sites that link to the Social Media profiles of a client’s choice.  Dealer HD also provides social bookmarking outlets on every vehicle available in a dealership’s inventory.

“It’s important for dealerships to use their website to coordinate all Internet marketing efforts,” said Justin Duff National Sales Director at Dealer HD, “Their website is the foundation of their online presence and should easily facilitate additional outlets, which is why we continually work to integrate new media.”

The Dealer HD push towards Social Media integration couples with a new product offering available this winter, Social Media Coaching and Management.   The product will be available as a standalone or package product with Dealer HD websites.  For more details on upcoming Social Media products and future integration details or other Dealer HD product offerings please visit dealerhd.com.

‘Personal City Commuter’ Premieres in Tokyo

Friday, October 16th, 2009

Nissan developed a zero-emissions electric vehicle, which will have its world premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show October 23rd.  Scoping out the vehicle details, Nissan sure didn’t ‘cut any corners’ when planning the design and dynamics of this vehicle.  The main feature of this concept car is that it has the ability to lean up to 17 degrees while turning corners. Check out driving video footage of the Land Glider!

This vehicle was designed to be a ‘personal city commuter’ and fits the description perfectly.  It’s only 43 inches (110 centimeters) wide, can maneuver through narrow streets, fits into tight parking spaces and seats two passengers in-line.  With this rollercoaster-like seating arrangement, it allows for comfortable seating in a compact way.  It has the lean of a motorcycle (and actually utilizes motorcycle tires) without the cold wind in your face and your body being exposed to the outside.  What more can you ask for?

The Nissan Land Glider is expected to be available for sale in the U.S. next year.  I wouldn’t be surprised to see several of these on the city streets of Chicago next year!

The iPhone does it all.  With tens of thousands of iPhone applications, a consumer is able to hold the world in the palm of their hands.   World renowned remote start manufacturer, Directed Electronics, is now offering the Viper SmartStart, an application that will allow you to control your vehicle from anywhere within the United States.   Your basic, run-of-the-mill remote starts will require the user and the remote to be within one hundred feet or so, but the SmartStart can be used within any radius.  While you are vacationing on the beaches of the Florida Keys, with the help of the 3G-network connection, you can have the ability to access your vehicle that is sitting in your driveway in the Midwest.

With a little service work from an authorized dealer, your iPhone can be controlling your car with advance features such as, unlocking and locking the doors, remotely start and turn off your vehicle, find your car, start your heat or air conditioning, and open your trunk.  With the free iPhone application one now has the ability to operate their vehicle from anywhere.  With all of the other products on the market, the Viper SmartStart has brought keyless entry to a whole new playing field.

Currently at Best Buy stores, you can purchase the device for $499, which is an average price for any remote start that one would purchase.   Drivers can now run errands using their iPhone as their car keys, their remote start, their GPS system and oh yea, that’s right, their cellular device.

National web hosting and web design company, Dealer HD has also been able to bring our customers the most cutting edge cellular compatibility, by releasing our mobile, on-the-go websites.  Dealer HD automotive websites are now compatible with mobile web browsers, including an iPhone specific set-up.  Optimized specifically for mobile devices, consumers will now be able to browse the websites 24/7 on their mobile phones!
